'Thorn' was a very sound, square, linebred male who, for almost 11 years , lived at home here at Royolyn. He was our pick puppy in a quality litter of 7. Five from this litter finished. Most of his littermates took their first points their first time in a ring on our Specialty weekend. Thorn won the Breed & went on to a Group 1st & Best Puppy in Show. Soon after that he was Best Puppy In Breed, and Award Of Merit at the BCDPC Specialty

Thorn has excelled as a Sire, and lives on in his sons, daughters, and grandchildren. Ten of these champions have been Best Of Breed winners who have won Group, B.I.S & B.I.S.S. One of his Canadian Champion daughters Ch Itz Goes Around Comes Around (Whoopi) emigrated to Australia where she completed her Championship in 9 shows and was a multi Best In Show winner and Best In Specialty show winner there. Her kids and grandkids have made their mark in Australia and New Zealand. In the U.S.(mainland) Thorn is the sire of 5 Champions, a Breed and Group winning son, 2 ROMs and 3 WACs. In Hawaii, his son Rico was the #1 Doberman for two years.

With longevity in mind, Thorn is doubled up and tripled up on SUPERTRAMP, DEXTER and DUKE. They all lived to well over 10 years of age. Only time will tell if this strategy has any effect but we can hope. His Dam, Sire, Grandsire ,Great Grandsire, and Great Great Grandsire also passed the 10 year mark. One of Thorn's daughters "Diva" is LC12 this year, and is a BFL2.

One of our greatest pleasures was seeing him in the Veterans class along with several of his sons.
